Reading the Turning Points of the Times | Insights from a Slope Engineer

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

It's been more than 24 hours since I got my COVID-19 vaccine!

COVID-19 Vaccine

So far, I haven't had any symptoms and I'm doing just fine lol

According to rumors, there seemed to be various side effects, such as fever and an inability to raise one's arm.

It's true—my arm hurts where I got the shot.

It feels less like muscle soreness and more like the kind of pain you get from a hard blow to the arm, like a bruise.

It's at a level where you can do the job just fine, lol.

I suppose this feeling varies from person to person, though.

I don't seem to be experiencing many side effects.

I’ve heard that even if any symptoms do appear, they usually go away within a few hours to 24 hours, so since I haven’t had any reaction as of today, I guess I’m in the clear for my first shot, lol.

There's one more chance left, so I might appear then, but until then, I'm looking forward to it.

I see all kinds of news and articles related to COVID-19, and since other countries are already taking the lead in issuing vaccine passports, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before Japan follows suit.

For example, you definitely can't ride the Shinkansen or fly without a vaccine passport, and depending on the situation, maybe even taxis, buses, and trains too??

Is it likely that we’ll hardly be able to use public transportation anymore?

As I mentioned the other day, I don't think even large construction firms (general contractors) will be able to get in there.

It's highly likely, especially since the workplace doesn't want the case to be treated as a work-related injury—that is, a death resulting from infection contracted on the job.

Since it's a matter of personal freedom, the decision to get vaccinated or not is respected, but you are also free to refuse.

The private sector will undoubtedly continue to reject this, and businesses will likely emerge in response; even as we adapt to life “with COVID,” various issues are bound to arise.

A Turning Point in History

I suppose a lot of things will change over the next two or three years.

We also need to prepare for the future in light of this. I suppose we’re heading toward a world where vaccines will be part of that, too.

With regard to this novel coronavirus, I can really feel that we are at a turning point in history.

How do you interpret this turning point in history?

See you later.
