I really hate this pressure plate lol
I mean, the edges tend to chip, don't they?
Well, something a little thicker like in the photo is still okay, but if it’s thinner and larger than this...
I've broken about five of them so far, lol.
That's because it's just a few centimeters at the edge. If it warps, it'll crack! The surface will crack cleanly, too!
The most important thing with this product is to ensure that it is not subjected to any uneven or asymmetrical loads.
It's really tough when the back of the pressure plate is in bad shape.
Sometimes we use a zabuton frame and insert PVC-based foam or similar material into it to adjust the fit.
After all, it’s very sensitive when it comes to leveling.
When I think about it, it’s a relief that I don’t have to worry too much about the steel pressure plate.
If the back of the pressure plate is soft, it will conform nicely, as shown in the photo.
In the case of PC bearing plates, if there is variation in the strength of the ground bearing capacity, the plates may become skewed.
If it becomes crooked, you'll need to remove the pressure plate and adjust it by shaving down the back or similar means.
If it's made of steel, it actually adapts quite easily. It's okay even if it warps slightly. (We're talking a few millimeters here.)
Ultimately, the appearance of the pressure plate is very important.
It becomes important to ensure that it is pointing firmly in a specific direction.
Also, doing so keeps the headcap facing the same direction, which makes it look very neat.
Please take great care when working with anchors, as the final appearance is very important.
Also, if the condition of the back of the pressure plate is particularly poor, we recommend thoroughly evaluating the use of a backing material.
