I'm starting to get tired of machine maintenance, aren't I?

Our machinery is getting cleaner and cleaner!

 

That's fine in its own way, but the problem is, there are no public works projects these days!

Where have all the public works projects gone?

 

I posted a tweet about it the other day.

This year's orders are strange.

We're not getting enough orders at this time of year.

I think that in about a month, we'll start seeing more and more small construction companies going out of business one after another.

Subcontractors Who Can't Take It Anymore Turn to Raising Funds

Subcontractors who can't raise funds will either be taken over or go out of business.

I have a feeling the shortage of subcontractors will accelerate even further.

It seems quite a few people felt the same way...

Design work has been delayed due to the pandemic, and since public opinion holds that public works projects don’t benefit local communities, we’re spending too much of the pandemic relief funds on other measures.

That comment really made me think, “Oh, I see!”

It's true—I had heard that the design was behind schedule due to COVID-19.

But I never expected it to be this bad...

Is NEXCO's revenue staying pretty much the same? (Carryover? Discretionary contracts??)

 

There really isn't any work!

I’ve heard that some prefectures and cities are making some kind of request, though...

How about in your prefecture, city, and municipality?

I've heard that the situation is really tough—apparently, there aren't even any private-sector apartment construction projects at all!

 

It’s okay to take some time off like this once in a while, but since the company’s budget isn’t unlimited, it’ll become a problem if this drags on.

I guess if it were a construction crew working exclusively for a major company, they’d probably help out a little (there used to be things like that), but when there are a lot of local contractors like at our company, it’s seriously rough, lol.

It's gotten to the point where I can't help but laugh at this, lol.

 

However, as I mentioned on Twitter, I think the number of vendors reaching their limit will start to increase soon.

It’s manageable if the lender offers loans, but it’s really tough for those that don’t.

What's more, we have to guarantee our employees' jobs!

I can't just let them run wild.

 

I can't just let it sit there, so I'm working on fixing it up, but that costs money too, huh? lol

We have a full range of machinery on hand to handle any type of slope construction project!

As we keep fine-tuning it, the machine starts to run really well, but the company is going in the opposite direction, lol.

Well, I guess there's nothing to be done about it, though...

 

But if they don't release it soon, we're really in trouble.

We're starting to get a few jobs here and there this month, too, but now I'm worried about the end of the fiscal year.

Once work starts, we'll probably be severely short-staffed.I think so!

 

If that happens, the general contractor will definitely be in a bind, won't they?

Prices keep going up, but people still aren't coming...

It's just become a vicious cycle.

Looks like I'm going to be working my butt off on site again this winter, lol.

 

For now, I really hope the government starts taking action soon!!

Still, while I’m working on the design for this private-sector project, I can’t help but wonder what will happen if this one gets approved as well.

Things suddenly got busy, and I'm completely exhausted...

I’d like to wrap up the private-sector projects before summer and shift my focus to the public sector.
