Since the start of this year, on a personal note, my child’s...School PTA ActivitiesI am participating in it.
Actually, PTA activities aren't really that big of a deal; it's more like just going through the motions of doing things that have been set in stone for a long time.
If you look at it the other way around, you end up wondering, “Does this even make sense?”
I'm the kind of person who always thinks that the status quo isn't good enough, so I don't like things that are stuck in the past.
However, with an organization like this, that’s not really an option; government agencies, schools, parents, and children all work together in these activities.
Changing that is no easy feat. (I have absolutely no intention of trying to change it, lol.)
And, of course, little squabbles and troubles tend to pop up along the way, lol.
And to think that the people involved in the PTA are all volunteers!
It's volunteer work based on the shared understanding that we're doing it for the children.
It kind of makes me feel a little wistful, but even so, there was one thing that made me think, “This is great!!”
Bell Mark Campaign
The Bell Mark campaign we’ve been participating in since we were children
1 Bell Mark is worth 1 yen.
Throughout the school year, students collect items, paste them onto the designated form, and send it in; the school will then receive a donation in that amount.
And you know what? There’s actually something called “WEB Bell Mark” these days!
This really surprised me. While there aren't many sponsoring companies, the main ones are Rakuten and Yahoo!, among others.
I buy office supplies, machinery, and tools on Rakuten and Yahoo! Auctions.
A portion of the purchase price—%—will be donated to the school.
Is there any benefit to collecting Bell Marks?
When you go shopping,
All you have to do is access sites like Rakuten through this Web Bellmark site and make your purchase as usual.
Just by purchasing it as usual,Used for children's school educationwill be done.
This is really a wonderful initiative, isn't it?

The Dark Side of Bell Marks
But there's kind of a dark side to it, lol.
Even though the school tells us to collect the items, it’s the PTA that ends up handling everything.
It is important to ensure that this does not place an undue burden on faculty and staff.
You might be thinking, “Wait, doesn’t the PTA include faculty and staff too?” But that’s just how it is.
There are some parts about the PTA that make me go, “Hmm…”
You can't really deny that it feels like mandatory volunteer work for the school, lol.
However, this is something only those who’ve tried it will understand, so I encourage you all to give it a try.
