The other day, I was called by a member of the public in Nagoya to investigate a problem with loose stone masonry.

At the site, portions of the stone masonry had been pushed inward from the inside.

Lately, we've been getting a lot of requests from upscale residential areas in Nagoya, so we're gradually looking into them.

Even after we've done the survey, we can only do the work in order, so we're asking you to wait a bit lol

The reason is that, as a public works contractor, our schedule is completely booked up until this time of year, so we generally avoid private-sector projects.

Starting in April, we plan to begin in earnest the finishing touches on the private residence that clients have been waiting for since last year.

Private construction projects generally proceed on the basis of having the necessary funds.

First, following a site survey, we’ll start with the most basic construction methods and provide a quote based on those.

After that, the estimate will be structured so that if you do this, the price goes up by ○○ yen, and if you do that, it goes up by ○○ yen.

It’s totally normal to get several quotes for a single construction project, lol.

To be honest, it’s a bit of a hassle, but when I think about how it would be if the roles were reversed, I can’t help but feel, “Yeah, that’s just how it would be, isn’t it?”

We also design our projects to ensure maximum effectiveness with minimal construction work.

There are many jobs that aren’t worth the effort, but I do them in the hope that I can help mitigate the damage caused by disasters, even if only a little.

And if the local residents and kids who see our work think our industry is cool or say, “I want to be a slope engineer!”—that would be great!

Even though our work involves building some pretty eye-catching structures, it’s often hard to tell when a project was done or who did it, isn’t it? lol

I'd like to be able to take on jobs where I show a little more skin, lol.

I wish I could make a flashy sign like a homebuilder does to draw attention.

For example, “We are carrying out construction work to secure the stone wall and prevent it from collapsing,” or something like that

"We're working on building slopes for homes that can withstand disasters like earthquakes," lol

It’s important for slope contractors to promote themselves a little more, isn’t it? ^^
