The other day, I borrowed a drilling machine from a company I know.
However, since we didn't have any hydraulic hoses, we decided to make them ourselves.
But here's the big problem.
The hydraulic quick-connect coupler on that machine was made by Bridgestone.
All of our hydraulic hoses are made by Yokohama Rubber.
There's absolutely no compatibility, so there's nothing I can do.
Since we also sell Yokohama Rubber hoses, we carry a decent selection of hydraulic parts and small hardware, but we don't have this particular item.
What's more, parts of this type—especially those over 1 inch in size—can take quite a while to obtain, or may be made to order.
The 1-1/2 (38 mm) quick-connect coupler is scheduled to arrive in April or later, and while all the other parts are made in Yokohama, there’s ultimately no way to connect them, so I’ll have to find another solution.
While I was looking through the warehouse, I found a Bridgestone one-touch coupler that I had replaced a long time ago, so I managed to make it work.
That said, since we’re doing the work with a 40-meter hydraulic hose left connected the whole time, it’s a bit of a hassle to maneuver, but we’re managing for now.
We don't rent equipment very often either, but in cases like this, it's a good idea to have at least one set on hand so we can handle either situation.
I guess this is exactly what they mean by “Better safe than sorry.” (Though sometimes you end up forgetting that you were prepared in the first place, lol.)

By the way, for the high-pressure hydraulic hoses on the drilling machine, the thinner hoses (feed) coming out of the unit are all rated at 21 MPa, while the thickest hose (return) is rated at 14 MPa.
Hydraulic hoses for other equipment, such as hammers, are rated at 21 MPa.
The return pressure is low. Since this is a basic principle of drill hoses, it’s worth keeping in mind.
