I've got a project that requires some creativity, lol.

Here’s a spacer for landscaping projects that’s eco-friendly, innovative, and interesting—or maybe just a little unusual.

However, for now, we can't advertise it widely.

It was a hit with the slope workers? lol

Are there any contractors who'd like to try this out at our job site?

I'll bring them with me, and I have the approval forms, mill sheets, and so on.

But I'll be there for the spray application, lol.

The reason is that we're collecting data.

I tried working with the perkatite I got the other day.

Actually, it seems the manufacturer could have processed it, but it was ridiculously expensive!

The total cost—labor plus materials—was more than double the original price lol

Well, when you actually try it, it takes a lot of effort.

I guess there's nothing we can do about it.

So, we do the processing in-house.

First, we'll make a mold.

You have to make it pretty accurate.

It is used as a backing for the pressure plate, but,

The design drawings are drawn to fit the pressure plate exactly.

However, it's best to make it about 5 mm larger.

It's fine to make it 10 mm larger.

(It's more of a hassle if it doesn't sit on the pressure plate.)

 

Place the mold in position and put a weight on top to keep it from moving.

My "weight" is a huge 100-kg hammer, lol.

This is used like a pendulum when removing shaft pins from machinery.

It's a big hammer.

 

Then, cut along the template using a circular saw.

The mold is used while guiding a circular saw along it, and the cut edge serves as the finished surface.

For this reason, the mold is positioned inside the cut surface.

The blade is located 26 mm from the side of the circular saw.

And this is still less than half, lol.

It's a pain because the pressure plate has four mounting holes lol

This is a cross-section cut with a circular saw blade designed for woodworking.

It's cut pretty cleanly.

Actually, I tried cutting it with a utility knife, but at 30 mm thick, it’s really tough.

If it's just a matter of trimming the edges, you can easily cut them with a utility knife.

Use a utility knife for detailed cutting.
