I've been in Kokura for the past few days!

It's a little over three hours by Shinkansen from Nagoya.

As for what I went there to do, it was a workshop on construction methods that are likely to become popular in the future. (Slope-related)

This was also something I ended up going to on short notice after a senior introduced me to it lol. It felt super pushy, though... lol

 

I can't talk about the construction method just yet, but here's some other information.

 

You all wear suits, right? (Well, it’s not exactly an industry where people usually wear them.)

I have a few of them myself, but,

Here’s a shop that makes custom suits—probably the cheapest in Japan—and they look absolutely awesome.

A shop called nana.

Well, at first glance, it's pretty plain, lol.

It feels like, "No one would ever go into a regular suit shop, right?"

But when I went there the other day, there were two people having suits made!

And what's more, from Osaka. Actually, I hear this suit shop gets customers from all over the country!

Apparently, people from all over Kyushu are flocking there like crazy, but I hear there are also a lot of visitors from outside the prefecture.

Among the customers I know, there are even some from Nagano and Tokyo!

I guess that means there are a lot of customers who’ve decided, “If I’m going to get a suit made, this is the place to go!”

Well, there's no doubt that it's actually really cool.

Plus, they'll even make regular pants for you.

I’m more of a workwear person than a suit person, so as long as I can mix and match, that’s enough for me—but for those who dress up nicely on a regular basis, isn’t this just irresistible?

And isn't being cheap the best?

There's also a café area where you can charge your devices! lol

The color looks a little washed out in the photo, but in reality, it’s a more sophisticated shade of camouflage!

That was really cool, wasn't it?

Getting the colors right is really hard!

I'd love for you to see the real thing lol

You can only express so much on a cell phone, can't you?

This suit also has a sharp, stylish look to it, and it feels like something I could wear anywhere.

I don't know if it's just me, but I used to think that suit shops like this only made suits.

But actually, they also make regular pants and shorts, don't they?

And it's super hard to get into!! lol

I feel like people might say, "Not really for first-timers," lol.

Apparently, this is the suit Prime Minister Abe wears in the Diet.

I hear that if you buy it in Ginza, Tokyo, it costs 800,000 yen or more, but,

I was told that if I had it made by Nana here, it would cost less than half—or even way less—using the exact same materials (fabric) and the same construction method, lol.

I've completely lost track of what things are actually worth.

Prime Minister Abe's suit was a really nice color and felt amazing against the skin!

 

When I hear the term "custom-made suit," it seems a bit intimidating.

It's pretty hard to get in, isn't it?

However, at this nana store, it seemed like ordinary customers would just pop in and buy something on the spot.

It's kind of fun because I get to decide everything—from the buttons to the thread to the lining and so on.

Depending on the fabric, the price can easily drop below 100,000 yen! I was totally shocked to find out that custom suits like that actually exist! lol

It seems there are a lot of women among the customers—that's amazing.

 

By the way, the owner of this place is also a longtime senior of mine!

And I used to work in slope stabilization!!!

It was the owner of this place who taught me all sorts of tips and tricks when I first started working on slope stabilization.

Even though I work at a suit shop, I have a Level 1 Civil Engineering Construction Management license, as well as certifications for slinging, mobile cranes, BH, and tons of others lol

I think even if a slope specialist came by, we could have a fun discussion about slopes, don't you think?
