Is it actually happier not to visit your parents' home during the New Year?

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Is everyone visiting their parents' home right now?

Since my parents' house is gone now, I don't need to go back there anymore lol

Because I sold my parents' house in Kagoshima and brought my mother to live with me in Aichi Prefecture.

Visiting My Hometown

When you visit your parents, does your wife help out with the housework?

Apparently, that's not a given these days!

If she keeps that up, she'll stop visiting her husband's parents' house!

On the other hand, if your husband’s parents take it for granted that the wife should do the housework, that would be a deal-breaker.

Apparently, in the worst-case scenario, there's a high chance they'll refuse to let me see my grandkids, lol.

I saw a post like that on Twitter the other day, so I decided to look into it a bit.

As the trend toward nuclear families has continued in Japan, the average family size has decreased.

We don't get together with all our relatives and have a big party like we used to.

I guess those days are over, huh?

By the way, it seems that nearly 50% of wives at their husbands’ parents’ homes don’t do housework.

I saw something similar written on other websites as well.

I think it’s fine when we’re young, but as we (and our parents) get older, it becomes more of a hassle.

I think that to have the best possible relationship, we need to respect each other while not getting too close, lol.

If you interfere too much, it can easily come across as meddling or a nuisance, right?

See you later.

This is what the first three days of the New Year were like, lol.

Use your long vacation to give your body and mind a good rest and recharge your energy!!!
