Here's a video of the shocking concrete pavement I saw the other day in Kathmandu, Nepal.
It’s a far cry from construction sites in Japan, but the workers here are so full of life!
It's very demanding work, but there are women doing it, too.
This method of construction is common in Nepal, and you don't see much heavy machinery there.
I was told that while heavy machinery does exist, it is often not used in the private sector.
At the plant site, water is added after the mixer has stirred the mixture, but at this stage, the mixture is transported without being fully mixed.
Then, after pouring it onto the work surface, add water by eye.
Presumably, this is because adding all the water at the plant would make transportation difficult, and,
I think it might be because you can't adjust the firmness.
At first glance, it kind of looks like there's not much cement, but,
I guess it's okay since it has nothing to do with strength, lol.
It was a rudimentary method, but I learned a great deal from it.
