When it gets cold, there tend to be quite a few mechanical problems, don't there?

When it gets cold, electrical system problems tend to pop up quite often!

This happens when it's super hot, but it also happens when it's cold, lol.

Well, always, then...

 

Well, when it's extremely hot or extremely cold, problems tend to arise ^^

The problem the other day was the magnetic switch!

For us slope workers, the most common electrical problem is the solenoid switch, right!?

 

Since it retains some heat, condensation can form when it's cold, and heat can seep out when it's hot.

Since these magnetic switches tend to break suddenly, it’s a good idea to set some aside and keep them on hand for our own machines, right?

Since these are consumables, it's important to keep them in stock.

Magnetic Switch

This is a magnetic switch.

 

There’s one important thing to keep in mind when replacing this.

First of all, the model number!

The model number shown in the image above is SC-N2, as indicated in the upper-left corner, and it is rated for 200V.

And the part at the bottom is called a thermal relay; its model number is TR-N2.

Next is the amperage shown in the yellow section. (The model number is different from the Thermal shown in the photo above.)

So, this ampere rating is between 12 and 18, right?

Please set it to the same amperage as the original.

Replacing the Magnetic Switch

This is what it looked like before the replacement.

*Magnetic switches are available with or without a thermal relay.

Also, please be careful when comparing them side by side, as the model numbers may differ slightly.

 

We at Slope Works are complete novices when it comes to electrical work.

So, when you replace this part, be sure to take plenty of photos and replace the parts one by one as much as possible.

If you make even one mistake, it won't work.

And if you're not careful, it might catch fire.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has never replaced a part before or has absolutely no experience with electrical systems.

Replacing the Magnetic Switch

I’ve done this many times before, so I think I have a pretty good handle on it, but it still takes a while if you’re not used to it.

It's important to get used to things, so it's okay to give it a try—but make sure someone who knows what they're doing is watching over you, lol.

 

And just the other day, the magnetic switches at two different sites broke at the same time lol

And it's the same squeeze-type pump, too!

And the locations are Aichi and Toyama Prefectures!

I happened to find a magnetic switch at an electronics store nearby, so I bought it and headed off to Toyama! lol

It was really great that both repairs were finished by evening, so we were able to start the work right away.

 

If it didn't work this time either, we were considering replacing it with another machine.

It’s especially important at times like this to come up with a few strategies and act on them, isn’t it?

How we handle problems will affect the rest of the construction process.

 

Because of what happened this time, I've decided to keep a stock of magnetic switches and thermal relays at the office lol

That way, I won't have to rush around, right? lol

I'll do my best again starting today ^^
