Well, this is common knowledge in our industry, but if you're an anchor engineer who isn't familiar with it, please buy a copy.
The other day, a number of things happened during a construction project, so I’ve been poring over books.
To top it all off, I even called a former colleague who’s a designer, and we went back and forth about this and that.
After that, I spoke with one of our top employees, and in the end, this is how we interpreted the book:
There are differing interpretations between the design team and the construction team, resulting in a discrepancy in understanding.
So that's how it all worked out.
Well, I thought, “Oh, I see.”
When someone tells me, “It says so right there,” I have to admit they’re right, but,
There are actually some surprisingly vague ways of writing, aren't there?
Like a way out? lol
Since interpretations of technical books like this can vary, I realize that I need to be familiar with both, so...
I really need to study—otherwise, I'm in trouble...
Always keep learning.
It really hit home again.
I can't cause trouble just because I'm ignorant.
As long as we're being paid a high fee to do the work,
We also hope to provide as much technical information as possible.
I guess I need to read those specialized books more carefully, too. (I thought I remembered most of it, but I still have a long way to go.)
