Installation of Anti-Siphoning Material

This happened the other day—someone sent a melon to the office.

I was wondering, “Why??”, when—lo and behold—inside were a melon and a bill...

Have you heard of this?

This is a drainage pipe for the mortar inside the frame.

At this job site, the entire interior of the frame was covered in mortar, but,Areas with loose soilThere was one.

So, regarding the earthwork section, we submitted a proposal along the lines of, “As a creative solution to prevent soil erosion, we installed anti-erosion material.”

I used to do it quite a bit back in the day, but I’ve done it much less recently—though it used to be standard practice at dam construction sites.

It's quite a hassle to cut the mats to this size one by one, but if there aren't many of them, it's no big deal.

In the case of dams, the water level fluctuates, and each time this happens, sediment inside the dam is discharged, creating a risk that cavities will form within the mortar surface.

For that reason, we will install a backflow prevention device.

In normal slope construction, the soil doesn't go through repeated cycles of saturation and desaturation very often, so it's fine, but,

Strictly speaking,To improve quality and reduce lifecycle costs!

Back in the day, there were some pretty handy products, like anti-siphon devices that you could just slip onto a cut piece of PVC pipe.

It's not there anymore, lol
