The Era of Soaring Labor Costs | Major General Contractors Post Record Profits While Subcontractors Struggle

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Today, I'm mowing the lawn at a local elementary school starting this morning.

I did some maintenance on my lawn mower the other day, so it's running like a charm!

I feel like I spun it way more than usual lol

I'm totally wiped out, though...

But that's beside the point.

It looks like the major general contractors are posting record profits!

So, what do you all think?

Isn't that pretty tough??

There's surprisingly little work, and everyone's out on business trips all over the place, working hard, aren't they?

I guess the big companies are always the first to move, huh? lol

Well, I guess there’s nothing we can do about it, but these are really tough times for small and medium-sized contractor firms.

While the rates charged by major contractors (government unit prices) keep going up and up, subcontractor rates remain unchanged or increase only by the amount of insurance premiums.

So, wouldn't you say that local companies that are able to secure a fair amount of work from general contractors are in a pretty secure position?

However, with the shortage of engineers getting worse, I suppose that must be a challenge in its own right.

However, I believe that the spotlight will shift from major companies to subcontractors going forward.

This is because the labor shortage is getting worse, so,The Era of Rising Skilled Labor CostsBut they'll definitely come.

At the same time, an era of soaring director fees is also upon us.

Or rather,Director fees have already skyrocketedI am doing that.

Coach! This might be your chance to switch jobs, lol.

Whether we’ll just grit our teeth and scrape by until then, or go all out and push forward—that’s entirely up to each person.

I'm the type of person who likes to fall forward, so,Pushing Forward While Enduring HungerI'm off, lol

See you later.
