Alternative to FRP Measuring Rods | Verifying Drilling Depth Using Yellow Line Equivalents

Hello, everyone

This is Enta.

You know that "Super Yellow" that’s often used in ground anchor construction, right?

That thing you use when measuring!

Drill Hole Length Measurement: Super Yellow

This is it.

That's pretty expensive, isn't it? lol

Super Yellow

Especially when the diameter gets bigger, they get pretty pricey, don't they?

Even the 50-meter roll of φ6 wire we use frequently costs 40,000 to 50,000?

For 100 meters, it costs around 70,000 to 80,000.

So, um...

I was browsing Amazon, and I came across a product that looked like a knockoff of Super Yellow!

Here it is!!

ONE STEP Line-Laying Rod with Frame Length: 130 m Wire Diameter: 6 mm

Check out the price!

Can you believe it's only 9,900 yen!!!!!

I was so surprised by this that I clicked on it without even thinking lol

Isn't this a price that even the branch dealers would be willing to close a deal on!?

And here's what I ordered.

ONE STEP Line-Laying Rod with Frame Length: 130 m Wire Diameter: 6 mm

There's something a little suspicious about the box.

Passing Through the God of Thread

You might be thinking, “What’s that all about??” but anyway, the box looks something like this.

The inside was solidly patched up, lol.

It doesn't look too bad at first glance, does it?

Apparently, this is enough for 130 meters.

It's about 50 centimeters in diameter, so it's quite a bit smaller than a standard Super Yellow.

Approximate measurements are engraved on it.

I'm not sure if that's correct, but since we're setting up the tape measure anyway, it doesn't really matter.

In terms of actual performance, it’s virtually identical to the Japanese-made Super Yellow.

However, because the diameter of the coil is small, the FRP rod has developed a slight bend.

It's a little crooked lol

However, as long as it fits inside the casing, it's not a problem.

To be honest, I'm thinking of switching to this from now on.

There's no need to spend money on this, and as long as you can bring a tape measure to the bottom, anything will do.

9,900 yen is just ridiculous, isn't it?

I guess it's hit or miss, but I hit the jackpot this time lol

See you later

I took a look at the image of the manual on the Amazon product page. What exactly is a “seven-hole, five-plum pipe”? lol
