Results of Taking the Skills Certification Exam for Technical Intern Trainees and Others (Part 2)

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

I'm going to share some tips for the recent scaffolding assembly certification exam!

Front View Certification Exam

This is a front view.

The important thing to note is that the starting point for the jack base is 100 mm from the base plate.

This is the absolute first priority!

Place two base plates parallel to each other (spaced 1.8 meters apart), then measure 100 mm from one of the corners and place the jack base there.

Here, secure the jack base with nails.

Distance from the Scaffolding

Please secure it firmly.

You could install the adjacent jack base next, but another option is to install the vertical frame (labeled “Kijun Tateji” on the drawing) without securing the jack base, and then secure the jack base later.

Vertical Frame Installation

Should I measure out 600 mm first, secure the jack base, and then install the vertical frame, or should I place the jack base at the 600 mm mark, install the vertical frame, and then secure the jack base?

I think either method is fine.

Please take the faster route.

Vertical Frame Level

Install one of these on each side and one on each side at the point where the internal dimension is 2,200 mm.

When installing the vertical frame, check it with a level.

If the unit is not level, adjust it using the jack base. (Checking the level with a spirit level appears to be part of the test procedure.)

Floor Plan Certification Exam

After installing the vertical frames, install the top scaffold planks.

Scaffolding boards

You could install diagonal braces, but it’s much easier to just use the scaffolding boards from the top deck.

Next, we'll install the diagonal braces.

Side View Certification Test

At this point, all that's left is to install the single-wall pipes along the sides.

Horizontal Single-Pipe Installation

As shown in the drawings, single-wall pipes will be installed at 1,500 mm and 200 mm from the bottom, and horizontally.

The most important thing is each dimension!

We absolutely must stick to the dimensions!

So, it seems like I keep forgetting how this single pipe sticks out.

Of course, please use a level to check that it is level.

Here’s another tip—or rather, something that’s easy to forget—but the key is to focus solely on building the foundation.

That means he's wearing a safety harness.

Creating while wearing a safety harness—the one thing people tend to forget most!

Anyway, be careful about this!

This will result in a point deduction.

That concludes the practical exam for the vocational skills certification.

There's a written exam coming up after this, but it's actually pretty easy!

There’s no way we’d send them back—they’re here for Japan, after all!

Everyone, it's okay. Don't worry!!

If you give me a thorough explanation a day in advance, I can handle it perfectly, and I’m fine with Japanese, too.

Please take the exam with confidence.

However, it seems there are exceptions: students with poor behavior or those who want to go home on their own are reportedly not very motivated to take the exam and tend to fail.

See you later.
