Anchor scaffolding is indispensable to our work.

 

So, people often talk about structural calculations for scaffolding, right?

Especially in the case of anchor scaffolding, since impact loads and other forces are also applied, the design is quite conservative.

In practice, people on the job site often ask, “Do we really have to pack them this tightly for it to hold?”

I wouldn't say the answer is "half," but the point is that even if we reduce it, we'll still be able to maintain it. That said, just in case something happens...

You will be held accountable if construction is carried out using dimensions that clearly differ from those specified in the structural calculations.

Whose orders led to that? (I mean, the fact that it collapsed.)

 

I guess the site manager will end up taking the blame in the end, lol.

However, on the other hand, the reason it holds up is that, just like a timber-frame structure, it’s supported by the entire structure.

Scaffolding workers don't just support the part where the machinery is located; they support the entire structure.

If it has a lattice structure with diagonal bracing, it’s actually quite strong. And it’s surprisingly flexible, too.

In my experience, I have never seen a site where an anchored scaffold collapsed.

(In the case of pile driving, even with double clamps, the pile may sometimes shift downward.)

However, even on a very sparse scaffold, it is unlikely to collapse, but the scaffolding materials will sustain severe damage.

If it's a leased item, the penalty fees will be astronomical.

Of course, it probably won’t turn out exactly as the structural calculations predict, but it’s safer to build it with a structure that’s up to standard.

I think scaffolding contractors are well versed in the tricks of the trade when it comes to things like how to install the diagonal bracing at the base of anchor bolts and the diagonal bracing on the surface.

These days, scaffolding companies have gotten so expensive that you have to wonder if they’ll even show up for a job in the 4,000-yen range.

So, I've started setting up scaffolding at Enta, lol (The scaffolding materials are coming next week! Of course, I bought them, lol.)
