Even among us in the industry, it’s difficult to distinguish between good contractors and bad ones.
I think it's even more difficult in the private sector.
In other words, since it's hard to choose, people end up going with the big companies.
It's safer that way. It's expensive, though, lol.
So, I’ll list them here to make it easier for private-sector companies to choose.
1. The explanations are easy to understand. (Technical terms are explained in an easy-to-understand manner with accompanying explanations.)
2. The quoted amount is justified.
3. I'm going to check out the site.
4. Able to understand survey data. (Able to read drawings.)
5. If there are no drawings, we can perform some surveying.
6. There are several construction methods to choose from. (They can be combined.)
7. I have a general idea of which construction methods are inexpensive and which are expensive.
8. Ability to design. (Assess the suitability of construction methods.)
9. Has a certain level of experience (5 years or more).
10. Able to read the process.
11. Capable of performing construction management at a level comparable to that of public projects. (Has a thorough understanding of specifications, etc.)
12. The deadline for submitting quotes is about three months.
13. Somehow, I can see that he has the composure to be trusted.
14. They answer honestly and without holding anything back.
15. Documents are issued. (All discussions are conducted in writing or via email.)

We’ve pretty much become a major company now (lol), but there are definitely some great local companies out there, too.
There are actually a lot of engineers who used to work for major general contractors but got fed up with the big companies and returned to their hometowns.
Local contractors with highly skilled technicians really do deliver high-quality work.
When you think about it, major general contractors really are amazing, aren't they!
If you're willing to pay for peace of mind and safety, I'd recommend that option, though lol.
The construction techniques haven't changed that much, but,It is extremely important to be able to manage construction projects.That's it.
