Fiber for Grout
I’ve been getting asked this a lot lately. Isn’t there any fiber you can add to grout?
As for why we add fiber, the main purpose is to improve the quality of the grout.
Additionally, it prevents grout from leaking out.
This effect is actually pretty significant.
However, this effect can only be verified on-site.
So, please take a look at the actual grout.
This is a photo of the grout, which contains Grace microfiber, after the compressive strength test.
Since grout is very strong, it usually crumbles when subjected to a compression test.
However, the fiber-reinforced grout looks like this and is definitely proving effective.
What's more, when you zoom in, you can see that the fine fibers are thoroughly dispersed and mixed in.
I think it's extremely effective.
It is effective for use in areas with a high incidence of grout deviation or where there are many mountain joints.
The problem is that the grout's workability decreases. If you add too much, it gets quite stiff.
When using it as grout, it is sufficient to use a significantly smaller amount than the standard amount for regular mortar.
This time, I used half the usual amount of microfiber m3.
They stick together so tightly that it's hard to break them apart.
From the cross-section, the fibers...RustlingIt's clearly visible. It works well for grout, too.
High-strength cement slurry naturally lacks plasticity. This might be a good way to add plasticity to it despite its high strength.
Because the mixture becomes thicker, the Peko-Peko Pump can only be used for downward flow or in areas close to the injection point.
If possible, it is best to use a large squeeze pump or grout pump with a pressure-resistant hose for the injection.
The products I’ve found work best when mixed into grout are, without a doubt, Grace Microfiber or NAF-6.
The amount is roughly one handful. If you have a vertical mixer or similar that can mix about 200 liters, use about two handfuls.
You can knead it even longer, but it will become quite firm, so in the worst case, please adjust it using LeoBuild.
