Around this time of year, we’re swamped with work on estimates, construction plans, and cost estimates for the next fiscal year.

Lately, I've been out on site all the time, so I really don't have any time, lol.

When people call me, I say, “Oh, are you on site? In that case, should we just email each other?”

Do you know how much pressure is needed to inflate a packer?

I don't think anyone knows.

It's a bit vague, isn't it?

I don't know either, and I doubt anyone else does either! lol

 

And I was talking about that today—with a veteran employee at a major company.

So, we decided to test it out at that site next time.

 

The maximum pressure the packer's span seal can withstand, and the pressure at which the packer expands.

What pressure should be used for dehydration? Which method of closing is best? And so on...

What's more,We'll test the antifreeze, too!

We'll conduct experiments on several types of antifreeze. Of course, we'll add them to the mixer, mix thoroughly, and take test specimens.

We'll be conducting all the experiments on-site, so I think we'll be able to collect reliable data.

 

It’s a really cold area, so temperatures drop below freezing at night, and everything around there freezes solid.

Just the other day, the outriggers on a 4-metric-ton Unick even froze solid and wouldn't lift off the ground, lol.

I think this phenomenon might be unique to the Kyushu region. It was the first time I’d ever seen it, too!

Of course, conducting thorough experiments does cost money, but if you consider that it will pay off in the long run, it’s better than proceeding with vague plans.
