The other day, I went out for drinks with some people I met online.

Their ages range from the oldest to the youngest, with the oldest being 50 and the youngest 28.

What's more, they're people from completely different industries.

There was only one person from our general contractor there, lol

I generally don't hang out with people in my line of work, lol.

I do go out for drinks if I'm invited, but I hardly ever go on my own.

Because it doesn't lead to anything.

A common example is the ○○ Club golf tournament.

I have no intention of denying it at all, but I just don't think it sounds like fun, so I'm not going.

Well, I don't play golf either, but...

This is just my personal opinion, but I believe there are hints for our work hidden in other industries.

There are so many things that are common knowledge in other industries but that we don’t know about, aren’t there?

I think that when you talk to people like that, you’ll find that all sorts of new avenues open up, surprisingly enough.

That’s why I believe it’s important to network with people in other industries.

I think it's really important to have a professional in some field among your acquaintances—someone you can turn to right away when you're in a bind.

I think it’s helpful for both sides to know people in other industries when you’re in a bind.

Connections with people in other industries are more important than connections with people in the same industry!

I want to cherish this.
