For some reason, the entire construction project is falling further and further behind due to the cold snap...

I don't want to get anxious, but I can't help it.

Things are especially hectic this year, especially with the fiscal year-end coming up, aren't they?

Let's be very careful as we go.

The other day, I headed to Shizuoka first thing in the morning to work at two job sites.

First thing in the morning, I head to a job site to get everything set up.

We will head to the cleanup site on the same day, along with the two large trucks that unloaded the cargo.

So we loaded everything onto the truck, packed up, and headed to the second job site lol.

 

On the same day, we had a steady stream of material deliveries followed by machine installations—it’s insanely busy!

On top of that, since both sites are first-tier subcontracts, the foreman is swamped—he’s running around like crazy lol.

 

I just show up at the site as instructed, get everything organized, and keep moving from one task to the next.

To be honest, I just had to do what I was told, so it was really easy.

How easy is it to just do what you're told?

Am I just following my manager's instructions this time, without thinking about how to organize the cuts?

I truly came to appreciate how easy it is not to think.

 

I just do what I'm told.

Is this really work?

Isn't the real job about figuring out how to complete the assigned work as quickly and safely as possible?

Especially for us contractors.

 

It seems that the human brain uses 20% of the energy we consume in a day.

If you don't think about that, about 10% of the time (though I'm sure I'll use it a little bit, lol), you won't have to do anything, which makes things a lot easier, lol.

Thinking helps your mind grow, and taking action allows you to gain experience and grow further.

 

We cannot grow unless we constantly think and act.

It’s amazing how many people just do what they’re told and think they’re actually doing their jobs.

To keep growing, let’s always be thinking—and always consider how we can do things efficiently, safely, and successfully!
