Did you see what happened in the industry the other day?
It's getting quite a bit of coverage on TV and online news sites.
That's embezzlement within the company, isn't it?
This kind of thing happens all the time in our construction industry!
This is relatively rare for small construction companies like ours, but it happens quite often at large firms.
I can say with certainty that most employees at major construction companies are familiar with situations like this, are currently involved in them, or have been involved in them in the past.
I think everyone is like that.
I worked at that company for a while, so I know it well.
I know there are a lot of things I can't say, lol.
In cases like this, it usually ends with the subcontractor being cut off.
Just think about it for a moment.
There are quite a few companies that rely on contracts from major corporations to stay in business.
If you are working in that field and are not doing any other work,
If a high-ranking executive at a major company (such as a construction department head or someone in a similar position) asked you to come up with some money, would you be able to refuse?
It’s not just the person saying this, but when you think about the person on the receiving end...
You just can't say no, can you?
I think it would be pretty hard to turn down.
It’s precisely because I’ve built a decent relationship with the employees at the major company that it’s really hard to turn them down.
And especially when I’m constantly reminded of the work right in front of me.
Now,"That doesn't matter! Just say no!!"
Some people say it’s that simple, but it’s not really that easy, is it?
I think that if you're in a position where you have to protect your employees' families and livelihoods, there are often times when you have no choice but to accept it, even if it's a painful decision.
I, too, have this many employees, and I have a duty to protect them!
They're my dear friends who trust me and follow me!
And then, all of a sudden, everything gets thrown into disarray because of an employee who embezzled funds.
That is precisely why construction companies that rely on employees from major firms are highly likely to be taken advantage of.
And once money changes hands between the two of you, it becomes impossible to break up.
Naturally, employees will always use that vendor.
I think it's only natural for contractors to be used. (Well, of course.)
In a way, it's a win-win for both of us, lol.
When I was younger, I used to wonder, “Why do I have to use a crappy company like this?”
I’ve often found myself thinking that.
The workmanship is subpar, but they sure know how to talk about money!
Why Do Companies Use the Worst Contractors?
It's gotten to the point where the company is telling me to teach them how to do it...
Well, since I enjoyed the construction work, I remember giving quite a bit of on-site guidance.
I didn't realize it at the time, but my senior explained it to me.
There's money changing hands between the department head and that company!!!
When things get to that point, employees lose their motivation all at once, don't they?
Site supervisors and construction workers want to do a good job and manage the construction process well!
Just because they're connected to higher-ups, they'll suddenly leave the site, or some weirdo will show up.
Of course, the company turns a blind eye to it.
After all, we're connected by money.
That used to happen quite often back then.
I, too, was fed up with that kind of temperament.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks, "Serves them right," when things like this happen.
So, in my next post, I’ll try to explain the methods used for the exchange of money and embezzlement!
I'll write down everything I know.
