Being on site at this time of year is absolutely wonderful.

If it were like this all year round, I’d get a lot more work done, lol.
While I was out in Shiga, freely checking and surveying the site, I received photos from Shizuoka showing the leveling work being done on the load-bearing plates at the site.
(For some reason, the image is stretched horizontally and a bit hard to see, but please bear with me lol)

Actually, at this job site, the city government skimped on costs (maybe because an employee from a major company told them that the mortar would crack and settle on its own without installing the zabuton frames? lol), so there are no zabuton frames.
However, since lifting would definitely occur on top of standard sprayed mortar, we managed to get approval to install a mat instead. (It took a lot of persuasion.)
I'm pretty sure the mortar cracked all over the place, too.
Since I added a mat to adjust it this time, it didn't turn into a big deal, and I think it's installed just right.
Here's a tip for placing the mat: if you use a mat that's too thick, the jack won't have enough room to grip it.
If you know in advance that you’ll be inserting a mat, leaving an extra length of about 10 to 20 cm will give you plenty of flexibility.
If it's short, there may be one extra step involved, such as tightening it twice.
