The other day, I got really annoyed for the first time in a while!
I don't usually get annoyed, but the other day was just too much lol
It all started with the way that crane operator spoke, I guess.
Anyway, the way he talks is just so arrogant.
What's with that tone?
Talk about having a sharp tongue.
Why are you acting so high and mighty??
The other day, during the tensioning process, we suspended the jacks and applied tension.
That's why the operators have quite a bit of downtime, too.
Even after the exam ended and it was time to move on to the next station, I called out to him several times, but he wouldn't budge—he was just fiddling with his phone.
And that keeps happening over and over again.
I finished the exam at 4:20 p.m.
The reason is that the crane is in the wrong position, so we can't install it unless we move it.
So I said, “Please move the crane and set it up again. I want to be ready to go first thing tomorrow morning, so please take care of this.”
Naturally, the operator just nodded silently.
The path is very steep, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk along it.
It will take 20 minutes to gradually lower the outriggers so we can move from our current location.
It takes 20 minutes to move 30 meters down and gradually raise the trigger. (I’m well aware that the slope is quite steep.)
We were cleaning up and getting ready to go home.
Then, even though the operator had only moved 30 meters down, he was already getting ready to leave.
Turn off the engine, too!
I finally snapped!
Me: “I told you to get everything ready because I want to start first thing tomorrow morning!” (in a firm tone)
Operator: "If I start this now, it'll mean overtime—is that okay?" (in a really condescending tone)
Me: "Keep working until 5:00 p.m.!" It was 4:40 p.m. at the time.
Ope started getting ready, looking grumpy and tossing things like floorboards around.
If we'd just moved around normally and gotten ready, it probably would have been over by now.
On top of all that, they started saying it would mean overtime. (I think that means they'll bill us for it.)
However, the day before and the day before that, we finished early and sent them home early (more than an hour early).
You claim overtime pay, but don't you wonder, "Will they dock my pay if I leave early?"
That was such a crappy operation! lol
It's okay if you're not very good at it. We're all human, after all—it's the thought that counts, isn't it?
Isn't that what words and actions are for—to cover it up?
"If you make a bad impression right from the start, you'll end up working overtime!" That's just how it is, you know~
That really pissed me off.
Well, our scaffolding contractor was pretty annoyed, too—there had been all sorts of issues starting the day before—but we’re all adults, after all.
I don't usually say this, but I was the first one to lose my temper...
That crane company has become one I never want to use again lol (Yamanashi Prefecture)
But as I thought about it on my way home, I realized, “Oh, that could happen to me tomorrow.”
So I don't end up like that personNever forget your beginnings!
I want to make an effort not to come across as arrogant, especially toward people younger than me.
I've always been a bit strict with people older than me, lol.

You must know deep down that you said it in a way that was hurtful.
If you notice it at that point, you can correct it. You can also correct it in other ways.
Let's work on fixing the parts we think need improvement.
When I'm working, I occasionally come across operations like this.
