All the construction projects I'm working on have been pushed back, and there's nothing I can do about it lol

The general contractor doesn't seem to care if they're late—they just say, "We'll start on this day," and so on...

That's impossible, right? lol

I bet there are plenty of construction companies that think that way, lol.

Let's take it slow and be careful!

So, which approaches work and which ones don't?

I'll be writing about my failures and successes in a series of posts!

Since this is work, it’s important to get the job done as quickly as possible.

However, it’s important to have a solid understanding of that process because it will help you in the future.

After all, nobody makes mistakes, lol.

 

As mentioned last time, the actual cross-section of the drilled hole looks like the one shown below.

It is 15 meters long, with a fixed length of 9 meters.

River gravel and sand tend to clump together and cause jamming, so this area needs to be thoroughly cleaned.

So, the part where I messed up here was the pump!

At first, I was a little overconfident and brought along an MG-5 pump made by Koken Kogyo.

There just isn't nearly enough water, so I can't clean it.

I brought a compressor, too, but that one’s also 50 horsepower.

I came to the conclusion that this method wouldn't let me level up the slime fully.

So, for now...Upgraded from MG-5 to MG-10!

 

I'm getting way more slime now!!

The river gravel keeps piling up!

Also, since there was a lot of water, I was able to drill the hole while pushing the sand aside to some extent.

Unlike mountains, sand and clay layers really require a certain amount of water and pressure, don't they!

I suppose I should really upgrade the compressor to 100 horsepower, but I'll have to make do with 50 horsepower this time!

 

I suppose this is just common sense to the craftsmen who have been doing this work all along, but,

You only learn things like this through experience, don't you? Veteran craftsmen don't go out of their way to teach you every little thing, after all.

I'm just going ahead and handling this on my own, aren't I? lol

You can't rely on unspoken understandings. You have to clearly state things in writing and keep a record.

By doing that, you can use it to your advantage for future success!

 

That said, water alone hasn't solved a single thing at this site, lol.
