It's Coming-of-Age Day.

Today, I’d like to write something for those who have just become adults.

First of all,Congratulations.

Once you turn twenty, you're considered an adult.

Well, I'm sure you already know that, lol

 

What I want to say to twenty-year-olds is,

Have lots of fun and work hard!

This is extremely important.

You need money to have fun.

When you get your money, be sure to have a good time and enjoy yourself.

 

So please make sure to learn how to manage your money properly.

It's not enough just to save. You have to learn how to spend it, too.

Of course, I make mistakes sometimes.

That's fine—so please use it as much as you like!

 

And please set aside a little money for your future as well.

For example, if you have about 100,000 yen to spend each month, setting aside 10,000 yen is a smart way to save for the future. (If you live with your parents.)

About 10 percent is fine.

And if possible, please set aside about 20% for savings. (For future financial flexibility)

You can just use up the rest.

The experiences and sensibilities you gain in your youth are priceless.

When you get older, you realize that life takes on a whole new depth.

You know how there are always those totally boring middle-aged men and women out there, right?

It's not fun because there aren't enough enjoyable experiences. I just don't find it fun.

On the other hand, I'm sure there are some of you who think, "Actually, these older guys and gals are super funny!" right!?

There are so many fun experiences and perspectives. I’ve experienced all kinds of fun things. (Though there are risks involved, of course.)

Next up is work.

If you work hard during this period (your early to late 20s), you’ll be able to approach your work in a completely different way once you reach your 30s.

Regardless of whether you can do it or not, just work as hard as you can.

Before I knew it, I’d gotten pretty good at it. (Though you shouldn’t push yourself too hard.)

Of course, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, but if you keep working on the areas you’re good at, you’ll find that you can surprisingly make up for your weaknesses as well.

Also, please try to work while always taking on some risk.

When you work with the determination to take full responsibility for the company, your motivation changes.

As a result, the way people around you see you will change.

And now that you’re all in your 30s, you’ve become interesting people who are in the prime of your careers and excelling at your jobs, haven’t you?

In the worldPeople who are good at their jobs are usually interesting.That's right. (He's also incredibly quick-witted.)

 

If you end up at a company you don't like, just quit right away and find another job.

Instead of sitting alone, wringing your hands, and worrying, let's move on. There are plenty of companies out there that will welcome you.

And before long, you’ll all be part of the generation that earns money for society.

Naturally, by that time, our generation will be the one steering society.

I hope that our generation can steer society (Japan) in a direction that will make it a better place by the time you all take the helm. (This is just my personal opinion.)
