Important Considerations When Selecting a Zabuton Frame

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Did you know there are some places where it’s a bad idea to set up a zabuton frame?

Zabuton Frame: Pressure Plate Installation Complete

The primary function of a zabuton frame is to level out uneven surfaces, right?

It is used to level the ground when installing a load-bearing plate, since the unevenness of the natural ground cannot be eliminated.

What does that mean?

This means it has a certain degree of bearing capacity.

What is bearing capacity? Is it the ability to maintain its state when a certain load is applied?

The question is whether there is sufficient supporting force to bear that load,

In ground anchor construction, the bearing capacity of the soil transfers force to the rock mass through the bearing plate.

To put it bluntly,

If the contact area is small, the peak will sink unless it's quite hard.

If the contact area is large enough, the ball won't sink even if it's soft.

No matter how many zabuton frames you install, if the ground doesn’t have sufficient bearing capacity, applying tension to the ground anchors will cause the embankment to sink.

The same goes for places like the one in the photo—since there’s no mountain on the right side, even if the ground is hard, the force is dispersed.

When using a zabuton frame, you must carefully consider the surrounding conditions, geology, rock type, the way the mountain is cut, and the direction of the forces acting on it before deciding to use it; otherwise, you’ll run into trouble later on.

If we were to adopt that, it would cause a bit of a problem on the ground, lol.

See you later.
