Last Friday, I went to “Maintenance & Resilience TOKYO 2024” lol

There was an exhibition on coping with extreme heat there.
I wanted to go there, so I went.
Air-conditioned clothing is still the most common way to beat the heat.
But this year, Peltier elements were all the rage. (There were so many different kinds.)
However, our actual impressions aren't that great.
It's kind of a drag to be out in the field carrying nothing but a bunch of batteries, lol.

When I think about it, I guess it's gotta be ice, huh? lol
One interesting thing is that there’s a medical-grade pack that’s supposed to last for 5 hours!!

Isn't this great!?
Regular ice packs usually last one to two hours, right?
Apparently, it uses medical-grade ingredients and lasts for 5 hours!!
Even under strict conditions—taking our body temperature and on-site conditions into account—it looks like we can use it for 4 hours!?
If that's the case, I think even just two each in the morning and afternoon would work perfectly with the air-conditioned suit!
I think this is a good idea, but since I'm not sure yet, we'll run some tests in-house to see how it goes.

There were also models from the same manufacturer that had the fan mounted on top.
I can't say for sure whether this is good or bad, but,
I think it would be great if the ice packs mentioned above could be placed nearby.
To be honest, even so, if you buy all that—like the special vest and the air-conditioned workwear—it ends up costing an outrageous amount.
I don't want to wear a vest in this sweltering heat—can't we just have an all-in-one air-conditioned suit??
I think it's probably possible.
There were many times when I felt they should have taken the opinions of those on the front lines into account more.
