This might come out of the blue, but you know this, right?
I always find myself thinking this.
Or rather, I've thought that ever since I was a kid.
Is this something you step on, or something you push with your hand?
At first glance, it looks like something you step on, doesn't it?
However, since the toilet seat is quite low on a Japanese-style toilet, I wondered if you were supposed to step on it with your foot, but,
With Western-style toilets, they're positioned pretty high up, aren't they?
In that case, it would be a bit tough to do on foot, wouldn't it?
So, when I looked into it, it seems a lot of people had the same question.
I got quite a few hits. (lol)
Apparently, the solution is to push it by hand.
But I think most people would say it's the legs.
It's hard to reach with your hand something you've pushed with your foot in the bathroom, isn't it?!...
Actually, I personally hook my finger under the edge and push it. I’m going to wash my hands afterward anyway.
