The Phenomenon of Suddenly Being Able to Do Your Job | Skill Development

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

There's a Vietnamese employee who has suddenly started performing well at work recently.

Until then, my work was generally slow, and my Japanese wasn't great either.

Try it yourself.

But recently, he's suddenly started understanding words...

I've gotten to the point where I can teach my junior colleagues and cover for them at work.

I was thinking, "Wow, they've really grown."

Experimental results and other reports seem to indicate that memory retention increases more after a certain amount of time has passed than immediately after learning something. Applying this to this young employee, it seems he’d been accumulating knowledge for about a year and a half, and now it finally feels like he’s “blooming”!? lol

Something like thisReminiscence Phenomenon and EffectThat's what they say.

This seems to work especially well when I'm really stuck—the more I think about it and the more I sleep, the more my thoughts become organized, and the answer just pops into my head all at once.

It seems like this term is used more often in the context of studying and the like, but I think the same can be said for work as well.

At work, there’s always a time lag between seeing what someone else is doing and picking it up through daily exposure, and actually internalizing what you’ve been taught, isn’t there?

I think there are actually quite a few people who find that it doesn't quite click for them, and no matter how much time passes, they just can't seem to remember it.

There are people who can just do this effortlessly, aren't there?

On the flip side, there are people who are worried because they can't do it, right? If that's you, you're totally normal, lol.

People who can do something right away on their first try usually have some kind of prior experience or background in a similar area. For example, they might have read books on the subject or played a sport that involves similar movements.

I think I experienced a case of the "Reminiscence" phenomenon.

It was just my past experience and knowledge coming to the surface naturally.

However, the reality is that it’s only natural for anyone to struggle at first, but after about a year, you’ll start to get the hang of it.

However, this ability does have its limits, and those limits lie in each person's individuality.

Work Style

People Who Can Do Things Up to 5

People Who Can Do Things Up to 8

People Who Can Count to 10

It depends on the person.

What's more, even if someone doesn't use more than a level 5 ability at work, for example, there's a very high chance they possess a level 10 ability in their personal life!

This means that this phenomenon of reminiscence has the potential to manifest itself both at work and in one’s personal life.

Everyone has their own way of living; some jobs are a good fit for some people and not for others, and there are those who think a 50-50 balance between work and personal life is enough.

We’re living in an era where you can work in a way that fits your lifestyle. If you don’t like it, just quit and move on. And there’s a very good chance that the experience you’ve gained so far will come in handy somewhere down the line.

Intentionally seeking to trigger the reminiscence phenomenon by revisiting books, methodologies, and actions in areas where I am not proficient, such as...Another PerspectiveIf you try looking for something similar and practicing with it, you might be surprised—eventually, when something just clicks in your mind, it might just appear!

For example, people who like surfing tend to do similar things on skateboards, right?

Some people often say things like, “I’m an idiot,” or “I’ve never been able to do ○○ in my life,” but if you approach it from a different angle, you might just find yourself right on track.

Try learning something that resembles your way of thinking and approach to action from a different perspective.

Ultimately, people are all the same—there aren't really that many biological differences between us.

But as you get older, there are plenty of times when your body just... well, you know, due to aging lol

See you later.
