Lately, I've been thinking, "A safety harness is just fine,"

I'm Enta, and during safety patrols, the safety officer always points out things like that to me lol

I'm so picky about names—what a dumb thing to point out, lol

But we do use harness-type safety belts properly on site.

 

So, there's another problem here.

We're spraying the material on the slope like this, but,

We are using the main rope as usual.

Also, although you can't see it in the photo, I'm using a safety block.

The people on the ground know this.

But you can't really tell just from the photos, can you?

 

In our case, we use single carabiners, ropes, and safety blocks, and so on,

I hang two of them side by side, pretty much however I like.

I can tell the difference between climbing ropes and single-strand ropes by their color and thickness, but I just can't tell the difference with safety blocks!

It doesn't look like a photo, so I'm not doing it!

That's the conclusion people tend to reach.

Sometimes, even if you're right there, people assume you're not doing it just because they can't see you lol (Look closer!)

I mean, there’s no way you’d be able to see a 4-mm wire, though.

 

So, what should we do?

When you think about it, the simple answer is: just paint it!

If it's stainless steel wire, I think if you degrease it once and then spray it, it won't come off easily, you know~

Ideally, it would be great if there were products like that made with color-coated wire, but they’re pretty rare, aren’t they? (Do they even exist??)

For now, I tried painting the wire on our safety block as an experiment ^^

 

At first glance, blue is easy to see, but I feel like it just blends right into the background when you're in the mountains surrounded by trees and dirt.

 

 

Looks like the red is fading too, huh?

Well, I guess it would be easy to spot if the site were constantly in direct sunlight or if the soil on the slope were a light color.

 

It's white, isn't it?

 

After all, the rope really stands out when it's brand-new and white.

If you stretch it out, degrease it, apply a coat of white paint, and let it sit for a day, it should turn out just right.

I ordered one brand-new one for now, so I'm planning to give it a try.

 

I can just imagine someone saying, “The paint’s all clogged up inside~~~!” but,

There are some people who just complain without doing anything, but I just ignore them lol.

Just give it a try—if it doesn't work, make some improvements!

Since slope workers aren't putting their lives on the line with Safety Blocks, this is just an experiment.

 

In the worst-case scenario, we'll have no choice but to raise the national flag from the safety block, right? (It'll be super visible and brighten up the scene? lol)

 

If the manufacturer would just release a product using colored wires, I’d buy it without any hesitation, right?

It's better when safety procedures are clearly visible.Right!? (Trolling the manufacturer lol)

 

That said, even if you're not using it because the wire isn't visible,

Is this a double-edged sword—that the current situation, where I can confidently say, “I can’t see it, but I’m using it!”—is about to fall apart? lol

 

Since this is something that protects lives, let's make sure we understand it clearly and use it properly ^^
