What kind of hanging hooks do you use?
This is pretty much it, isn't it?
The type shown in this photo weighs about 5 metric tons, so its jaws never open, but even with a chain hoist, the jaws open surprisingly easily.
This hook is no good anymore.
The hook is overloaded and must not be used.
In this case, we only sell the hooks, so please replace them.
This type does not have a lock.
If you use this on site, you'll get in trouble.
I guess the only time it's okay to use this is when you're lifting a griddle or something like that, right?
Are there any dedicated ones these days?? lol
This is what we've been using for the past few years:
It's one of those Martec swivel hooks.
The great thing about this is that you open it, hook it on, and lock it in place, so the hook is really hard to dislodge!
Plus, it really stands out lol
I highly recommend it, but the downside is that it's a little pricey!
It costs about three times as much as a regular hook!
At 2 metric tons per unit and 6,500 yen for a brand-new one, that’s a pretty good deal!
If they're in the 6,000 yen range per item on Yahoo! Auctions, I'd definitely buy them lol
It definitely comes with a swivel!
If you don't use a swivel, the line will get twisted, so I highly recommend using one whenever possible!
And then, I'll buy this and have a wire shop attach a ring and a hook to it, so that'll cost me more money.
Going with this swivel hook design is quite expensive, but it's very safe and looks great!
If you don't keep a close eye on it, it'll get stolen!
Is there anything we can do about thieves on construction sites?
Even if other contractors are on site, there are still thieves, and even when I’m working alone, thieves might steal from me, so I try to take all small items with me whenever possible.
It’s really frustrating when you go to the trouble of buying something nice, only to have it stolen, isn’t it?
