Just don't add water!

After mixing a few batches of grout, the grout left in the mixer gets pretty stiff, doesn't it?

What do you do in situations like that?

This video shows something being inserted into hardened grout!

 

It's a bit rough at first, but it gradually becomes smoother.

So, what did I add? The usual admixtures (Master LeoBuild 4000 and Seacem FLC 400).

 

At this point, craftsmen who don't fully understand the mixture will add water.

You should avoid this as much as possible.

As you can see in the video, even with LeoBuild (Seacassem FLC 400), it separates at first. (It floats to the top.)

This is because the specific gravity of the pre-mixed cement slurry and that of Leobild differ too greatly.

Compared to cement slurry, which has a specific gravity of around 1.6, Leobild 4000 (Seacem FLC 400) has a specific gravity of around 1.13.

It takes nearly 60 seconds to gradually dissolve in a solution with a specific gravity of 3.15. (Despite its excellent dispersibility in cement.)

If this were water, it wouldn't go in very easily!

It might end up with us remaining separated.

Water-to-Cement Ratio and Strength

In the worst-case scenario, water pressure could force an unlimited amount of water into the grout, which could very well ruin it. (I don’t know the water-to-cement ratio.)

If you use that, the anchor will come loose, so it's clearly a construction error. (It's fine if it's hard, but can't it be injected?)

 

As for the amount of Master LeoBuild to add, please ensure it does not exceed 4% of the total. (Maximum amount of LeoBuild)

(Currently 1% Seikasei FLC 400)

200 kg of cement; when the water-to-cement ratio is 50%, 96 L of water + 4 L of Leobild = 100 L

Since there are already 4 liters in the mixture, adding 2 liters will result in a water-to-cement ratio of 51%.

As a general guideline, the maximum should be around 1.0% of the cement content. (Taking the water-to-cement ratio into account as well.)

 

In my case, I think it's best to add 0.5 liters at a time.

That's because that's often enough.

With up to 1 liter, it generally spins around in a circle, just like in the video.

 

You absolutely must not drink water, okay?

It doesn't mix well, either. With water-reducing agents, there's no need to worry about achieving the required strength.

Well, technically, water would be fine, but it just feels a little scary.

And be sure to measure the amount carefully when adding it! (The water-to-cement ratio is important.)
