The other day, I used a milling machine for the first time to do some machining.
It's a machine like this that carves out flat surfaces with a precision of 1/100.
I used this because I wanted to give the stainless steel nipples of the same diameter a flat finish.
I cut off the threaded portion, but the cut was at an angle, so I'll use a milling machine to make it flat.
The first time I used it, I didn't do it right and ended up breaking the blade.
It's hard to figure out what's wrong with a machine you're not used to, isn't it?
I got a rough idea of how it works, but rotating machinery like this really is scary and dangerous.

We will weld a 25 mm (1-inch) nozzle to this stainless steel nipple.
Make a chamfer and perform the edge finishing.
At this stage, apply the putty at least four times to minimize warping caused by heat.
Welders are always concerned about distortion.
Well, it doesn't really bother me that much, lol.
It's finished.
I had Yuki, a part-timer at Wakazono Manufacturing, do the welding lol.
It's been a year since I started my welding part-time job, and I've improved quite a bit!
It's hilarious that a college student working a part-time job can do welding at this level lol
Wakazono Manufacturing used to make one-off parts for vintage bikes and Harleys, as well as exhaust systems for Ferraris and the like, lol.
From muffler repairs to custom-made parts, huh?
It seems they have a reputation for being able to handle types of processing that other companies can't, so they look incredibly busy.
Since Yuki is helping with the editing too, I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
Being a craftsman at this age—at 30, you're already a veteran, lol.

A cam lock is attached to the threaded section for use.

It's just a small thing, but being able to modify tools myself and do the work this way makes the job site more enjoyable.
