It’s actually quite interesting to learn about the soil, rock types, and history of the mountain where we’re working.

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Karst Topography

I went for a run in the mountains on Monday during Golden Week.

To Mount Ryōzen, a popular mountain in Shiga Prefecture

In terms of topography, it is a karst landscape.

You’re probably thinking, “Karst here!?” lol

Now, let's review^^

What Is the Karst Topography of Mount Reisen?

  • It is composed of limestone and was formed more than 300 million years ago during the Paleozoic Era.

  • Once upon a time,This area is at the bottom of the oceanThat's it! That's what rose up to form the mountains we see today!!

  • Limestone (calcareous sediment) is formed when the bones of coral and other small creatures that lived in the ocean gradually turn into rock over a long period of time.

What makes Coco special is its rugged texture.

The terrain shown in this photo is called karst terrain.

Falling on the MountainHowever, when it mixes with carbon dioxide in the air, it becomes slightly acidic rain.

That is what makes limestone...Melt it little by littleI'm going.

Over tens of thousands of years, holes (doline) have formed on the Earth's surface, andA cave underground(Stalactites) may form.

The topsoil is thin, so it keeps getting washed away by rain, which is why the terrain looks the way it does now.

It seems there is a limestone cave downstream from this mountain.

It’s so much fun to play around like this while observing the local rock and soil types and thinking, “Oh, I see!”

Have you ever thought about the soil conditions at the job sites where you're working?

I think craftsmen tend to remember things intuitively, like, “That area is pretty hard,” or “In that region, the mountains don’t stand on their own.”

I think it would be fun to learn more about that in detail.

This is just so romantic!! lol

Administrators, please take a look at the soil classification and other details listed in the design calculations and try to make sense of them.

It's really interesting if you break it down even further from there.

It expresses the idea that memorizing isn't important at all—what matters is knowing.

See you later.
