Measures Against Burglars
How much do you think society spends on dealing with thieves?
"I don't think they've spent that much, actually. Which means they aren't taking any security measures."
Take generators, for example!
Leasing companies usually keep the lids closed so they can't be lifted, right? It's a security measure.
So, what about the generators used by typical construction companies?
You can hang it up anytime, right? I don't think they've taken any precautions. We haven't done anything about it either at the moment.
There are probably a few companies that do this, but I think there are an enormous number that don’t.
As you can see in the photo above, even just this mounting bracket shows that they’ve put a lot of thought into it and invested money in theft prevention.
Generally speaking, it’s said that spending about 3% of the purchase price on anti-theft measures can drastically reduce the theft rate.
Assuming a generator costs 1 million yen, spending about 30,000 yen will reduce the theft rate.
So, in this case, if we had spent about 3%—roughly the price of the 60sq tires that were stolen from us—we could have reduced the risk of theft.
I’m partly to blame for neglecting that, but since it’s so frustrating, I’m going to take steps to fix it!
I won't let them steal from me again!
