This is actually a load-bearing plate I’m working on for a test anchor.

For now, we'll design it so that the center doesn't buckle, but since this is strictly for testing purposes, we'll base the design on the lower of the two soil bearing capacities.

Ideally, the footprint should be as large as possible, but if we need to fit it on a 4-metric-ton truck, the width will have to be around 2 meters, won't it?

It's really fun to develop things using 3D CAD like this, isn't it? lol

In the future, construction in the industry will be carried out almost entirely by foreign workers.

The term of the Foreign Technical Intern Training Program has been extended from 3 years to 5 years.

I think the exam for that extension can be passed with just one day of study.

 

A considerable number of foreign workers have already arrived.

There’s no doubt that our work will increasingly depend on foreign workers going forward.

I've heard that, currently, one in every 90 people is a foreign worker.

There’s a lot of talk about AI taking away Japanese jobs, but that’s actually not the case.

So it ends up being taken away by foreigners.

Saying "taken away" might sound a bit misleading, but that's pretty much what happens.

Over the next 10 years, jobs known as the “3K” (hard, dirty, and dangerous) will shift from Japanese workers to foreign workers.

 

Can you really be happy about this?

As I’ve written many times on this blog, I’ve been saying that a “craftsman’s paradise” is definitely coming.

With the number of skilled workers plummeting, your salary is sure to go up.

Even the slope-construction apprentice I'm working with now will be a foreman in 10 years, so the pay is pretty good, isn't it!?

Now that it’s increasingly likely that foreign workers will take their place, why wouldn’t you become a craftsman right this very moment?

From now on, it's the age of the craftsman!

Why not fall in love with slopes and become a slope craftsman? (lol)

Would you like to become a skilled craftsman who trains foreign workers?

In 10 years, a job you'll definitely enjoy is waiting for you!

That’s just how far behind the rest of the world Japan is when it comes to accepting immigrants and foreign workers.

While the number of “pure-blooded” Japanese is declining, I suppose we’re moving toward a new Japan.
