There was an earthquake in Nichinan, Kyushu, the other day.

Is everyone in Kyushu okay?

 

Looking ahead, the most dangerous areas are the mountains that have been loosened by the earthquake!

 

And that's when it rains the most—that's when the mountain is most likely to collapse.

It would be bad if water got into a loosened mountain, wouldn't it?

As for the weather, we've been having a string of days that are as hot as in the tropics, but what's scary are the localized downpours.

 

It'll be a disaster if it rains.

Please be very careful.

I’d especially like those of you who have a mountain behind your house to be careful.

We—especially those of us in the slope stabilization and civil engineering fields—would really like to get this message across to the general public.

 

I think that would help reduce the damage, even if only slightly.
