3 Handy On-Site Gadgets Found at CSPI-EXPO 2026 | Zojirushi Hoist, Bone Conduction Wireless, and HeatSEE

This time, I’d like to tell you about the CSPI-EXPO that took place last month at Makuhari Messe lol

I go to all kinds of events every year.

At these trade shows, I go with the hope of introducing products that make people go, “Wow, is this it?!”—and I really want everyone to start using them quickly and conveniently on the job, lol.

Of course, we’d like to keep incorporating more and more great content into our entertainment offerings as well.


But that's beside the point.

What is CSPI-EXPO 2026?

CSPI-EXPO (International Construction and Surveying Exhibition) is one of the largest trade shows in the construction and surveying industries, held annually at Makuhari Messe.

This year’s event (the 8th edition) was held over four days from June 17 to 20, 2026, and according to the organizers, it was the largest ever, with 606 companies and 3,450 booths (based on reports in *Response* and other media).

If you take the time to explore the venue thoroughly, a full day isn't even enough to see it all.

From among those, I’d like to introduce three items that, as someone working in the field, I thought, “This is great!”

Zojirushi Power Hoist Man (EHMF-20)

First up is this! It’s the “Power Hoist Man EHMF-20,” a hoist made by Zojirushi Chain Block!

The great thing about this is that you can wind the chain using the impact driver (rechargeable electric screwdriver) connection! That's really awesome, isn't it?

Unlike motor-powered models, you don't have to carry a power source around—batteries are all you need! It's really convenient.

According to the manufacturer’s documentation, the EHMF-20 has a rated load capacity of 200 kg, and the series reportedly includes models with capacities up to 380 kg. It can be raised and lowered remotely via a dedicated power shaft (standard length: 1.5 m), and you can also attach a driver directly to the main unit without using the shaft, or turn it with a manual handle when not using the electric motor. Whether you attach the driver directly to the main unit or via the extension (power shaft) depends on the job site.

Not having to fiddle with the hand chain in tight spaces or low-clearance areas is a huge help on the job site.

The Latest in Wireless Technology Is Bone Conduction!

Next is wireless.

Wireless devices these days are super stylish.

Apparently, bone conduction technology allows for clear communication even in noisy environments.

I got to hold the actual product, and it's incredibly light.

Plus, since it's a mesh network, if everyone uses it, the signal gets relayed and reaches even places where it's hard to get a signal!!?

According to the explanation at the booth, that's apparently how it works.

At construction sites where there’s a significant vertical distance—like on a slope—and the air is filled with the noise of drilling machines and other equipment, it’s often hard for your voice or gestures to get through, isn’t it?

Since bone conduction doesn't block your ears, you can still hear ambient sounds—such as signals, alarms, and the sound of approaching heavy machinery—while conversing, which I think is a great safety feature.

"Nessie," the Newcomer to Moderate-Symptom Countermeasures

Next up are heatstroke prevention items. Until now, wrist-worn (watch-style) devices like the "Canary" have been the mainstream choice, but this time we're featuring a helmet-style model.

It’s called “Netsu SEE (Nessie).” It’s a product from Tanizawa Manufacturing (Tanizawa).

According to the product page on the Tanizawa Seisakusho website, it can be worn simply by wrapping it around the headband inside the helmet, and

It seems to be a device that estimates a rise in core body temperature based on forehead readings and alerts the user with a vibration.

The unit weighs about 21 grams and is a "single-season disposable" type that runs continuously for about six months once turned on.

Apparently, it doesn't require charging or daily maintenance.

I was told that it’s more accurate because it measures from the forehead, which is closer to the body’s center than a wristwatch.

This new product, set to be released in April 2026, is reportedly compatible with helmets from other manufacturers, but since compatibility depends on the shape of the headband, the manufacturer recommends checking beforehand.

Every summer, construction sites everywhere struggle with heatstroke prevention measures, don't they?

I think the type that “feels like you’re not even wearing it and keeps an eye on things on its own” is the easiest to stick with in a real-world setting.

AI was definitely the star of the show this year.

There were plenty of other developments this year as well—whether it was CIM/BIM or 3D—but AI integration really stood out.

We’ve definitely entered an era where AI is essential.

AI will make work sites even more convenient.

Definitely. Though, because of that, there’s a chance we’ll end up with some unnecessary stuff… lol (again)

Even if we keep boosting efficiency and push for even a little digital transformation on the front lines, I bet the big companies will just end up with more internal paperwork. All because of compliance, lol.

Anyway, there are all kinds of products available this year too, so let’s make our work a little easier while taking good care of our health!
