"CAI," a Free Civil Engineering Site Management Software Platform, Launches | A Repository for Cost Estimation, Bidding, and Safety Management Software

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

I've been sitting too much lately, and my lower back is killing me.

I'm starting to feel like I want to do a job where I stand...

But that's beside the point.

I have an announcement today.

The CAI website is now live!

CAI | A software repository that helps you finish your civil engineering work a little sooner.

CAI is a repository for civil engineering field software

CAI is a website that offers AI-powered software for calculations and checks commonly used on construction sites, such as cost estimation, surveying, slope volume calculations, and document preparation.

Since data such as unit rates and unit prices is included, you can open the file and start using it right away.

The tagline is “We’ve used AI to make the hassles of the workplace a little easier.”

That's really exactly how it is.

This is a place where people from the field bring together software solutions for tasks they used to find tedious to do manually every time.

Civil Engineering Software Currently Available at CAI

Here's a look at the software currently available.

  • Bid Information Viewer: View bid information for public works projects nationwide, organized by prefecture
  • Reinforcement Bar Installation: Cumulative Cost Estimation—Capable of performing cumulative cost estimation for reinforcement bar installation
  • Skill-Transfer AI: When you run out of ideas for the morning meeting, it provides one actual accident that occurred.
  • X-BASE: A corporate management portal for centralized management of work hours, schedules, vehicles, and equipment
  • Risk Assessment Based on Design Documents: Identifying Tasks, Heavy Equipment, and Site Conditions from Design Specifications and Bill of Quantities
  • X-SEARCH: Search for plants and disposal sites near your location, sorted by straight-line distance
  • SAFE-BASE: A crisis management app that helps you spot oversights just by entering your to-do list
  • FaceWorks Light: Windows software that creates face data from SIMA files and drawings and exports it to LandXML
  • Essay-correction software for the First-Class Civil Engineering Exam and other certifications—professional instructors will review your work.

The developers are all over the place, with people from various teams releasing software.

Since all of these are created by civil engineers in their respective fields, we’ll be able to make those “It would be great if we had that!” ideas—the things the industry has been struggling with—a reality!

The number of CAI software programs will continue to grow.

Construction Team Meeting Centered Around a Helmet

I created the Bid Information Viewer and the rebar insertion cost estimation tool.

Since we're a slope-construction company, our software naturally tends to be geared toward slopes, lol.

But the number of software titles available for CAI will continue to grow.

It's impossible for a single company to develop software for all types of work.

So, the people on the front lines each bring software they’re good at using, and everyone uses it together.

I think this is the fastest way.

If there's any software you think would be helpful, please don't hesitate to let me know.

And once things have stabilized to some extent, we’ll start accepting submissions for apps from our civil engineering peers (including all of you reading this)!

We'll be adding more and more, so stay tuned!

See you later.
