The people around me were also very pleased to see the recent footage of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
To be honest, this whole situation made me realize that everyone—myself included—really likes His Majesty the Emperor.
He seems like a figure beyond our reach, but in a sense, he is the head of the Japanese government.
It was one of those moments when I thought, “I’m so glad I’m Japanese.”
But that's beside the point.
The other day, I went to an exhibition being held at Port Messe Nagoya in Nagoya, where companies specializing in mechanical engineering, 3D printing, and space development were exhibiting.
Here are two great items I found among them.
This is a full-body harness from Midori Safety.
Well, at first glance, it looks pretty ordinary.
But this one has harness attachment points both in the front and the back.
There weren't many of the old type, were there?
But this was included.

That's the model number. That said, there's currently a backorder of over three months for full harnesses from manufacturers nationwide, lol.
I'm totally focused on this. Even the person from Midori Safety said, "I'm sorry!" lol
However, I'm not sure if this safety harness is intended for use on slopes.
However, it just goes to show that it’s been done before.
Next up is this.
This is a ball valve with a lock!
I thought, "This is really great."
In our line of work, ball valves are used in some pretty complicated applications, aren't they?
Like, getting tossed around or something lol
It sometimes opens a little when you bump it, right?
This product helps reduce those kinds of minor accidents and mistakes.
The lever is locked, so it won't open easily even if something hits it.
I thought it was a really great product.
There are some issues, but we use it like crazy outdoors, right!?
This means there's a chance the trash could get stuck.
There's a spring inside this part.
When opening or closing it, you lift the lever slightly upward and slide it.
A spring from above holds the lever down.
What if trash gets in here???
What if we add cement-based material again?
Of course, there are some downsides, but I'll have to try it out first.
Actually, since we give it a thorough scrub with a pressure washer, it might not get that dirty anyway.
The manufacturer is a company called Hamai.
By the way, I hadn't really thought about it before, but it seems that ball valves can withstand pressures of about 2 MPa!
You attach them to things like pressure washers, right?
It just means that too much pressure is a bad idea, lol.
When I go to exhibitions like this, I’m struck by just how much I don’t know about the world.
You may not need to know everything, but knowing a little bit might come in handy.
It's important to travel to different places and broaden your horizons, isn't it?
