What are your plans for preventing heatstroke this summer!?

On the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's website

"Compared to when you are not wearing a mask, your body may be under greater strain, as your heart rate, respiratory rate, blood carbon dioxide levels, and perceived temperature may all increase."

It says so.

And,

"Wearing a mask in hot or humid conditions may increase the risk of heatstroke, so please remove your mask when you are outdoors and can maintain a sufficient distance (at least 2 meters) from others."

 

I wonder what it'll be like at the construction site?

It'll probably be scorching hot again this year.

For now, it’s essential to work while wearing the air-conditioned suit, but what about the mask?

 

It seems likely that a director who’s absolutely in favor of wearing masks will emerge. (Especially the inflexible, stick-in-the-mud type from a major studio.)

Since the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has adopted the approach described above, it might be worth giving them a call, lol (though I don't know if they'll actually listen).

 

I did some research, and it turns out there are quite a few face shields for helmets.

But it’s funny how a lot of these things are clearly not even meant to be used in the field, lol.

I mean, I guess when the wind is strong, it’ll probably just fly away, or it’ll keep hitting my arm every time, lol.

While a little patience is unavoidable, I think we need to consider the possibility that if work efficiency drops too much, it could become a source of frustration for everyone.

 

Well, basically, you should just work from a distance of 2 meters, but there are times when that’s not possible.

So, I found something that made me think, “Hey, this might work!”

As long as you use this consistently, I don't think you'll be called out on it.

But! The problem is the price.

It's crazy expensive lol

About 10,000.

I think a standard helmet designed to protect against flying and falling objects generally costs around 5,000 yen.

That's twice as much, isn't it?

 

If I wear it with my air-conditioned suit, the breeze will come from around my neck, so it should be okay inside the helmet... but it's expensive.

The other day, when I tried to buy 40 of them—including a few spares—it came to about 400,000... 400,000 for a helmet...

No, no... No, no... I'm thinking, "Oh man, this is a problem," lol.

 

Considering heatstroke and safety, I think it’s a good idea.

But seriously, that price is a bit much lol. It's way too expensive!! lol

 

I think the safety measures implemented by the general contractor are certainly being scrutinized in terms of COVID-19 safety management as well!

So, I'll think about some other options, too. (Does that mean the general contractor will cover it!? ...lol)
