It's insanely hot out there!

Is everyone on site okay?

I have so little work to do that it's actually harder for me...

How are things going with your work orders?

I can't believe something even worse than the summer heat could happen... lol

But complaining won't get me anywhere, so I'm just going to ignore it and do what I can.

Do you use shade cloth?

It seems to have become so widespread that there are even contractors now working on the entire slope.

Just having this makes all the difference.

Keep out of direct sunlight!

This is the best.

It might be impossible to cover everything, but put some shade cloth over the spot where they spend most of their time during the day!

I think it's about time manufacturers caught on and started making something for civil engineering use, don't you think? lol

Could you make it about the size of a blue tarp?

 

I'm guessing I might be the first person in Japan to suggest using this gauze as a way to prevent heatstroke? lol (just assuming)

I remember using it on site when I was around 25 years old (more than 20 years ago).

I’ve been blogging since the Ameblo days, so it’s been over 15 years now.

The photo above shows a horizontal drilling site on the Kii Expressway in Mie Prefecture 16 years ago lol (I remember it well).

 

My efforts to raise awareness about gauze have gotten to the point where pretty much everyone knows about it now—I think they’re good enough to earn an award from the manufacturer, lol.

It’s great that we were able to create an environment where no one suffers from heatstroke while working and everyone can make it home safely.

I hope that in the future, gauze manufacturers will be able to produce something suitable for civil engineering projects (like large-format sizes).

 

People are saying that Japan is going to get even hotter in the future! I wonder what will happen...

If it gets too hot, we can't work, and it's just too dangerous.

 

Please be aware that even air-conditioned clothing won't work at these temperatures.
