Deterioration of power sockets and fasteners progresses much faster than you might think.
I imagine it depends quite a bit on where and under what conditions it's used, but I've heard it can deteriorate in as little as one to two years.
Since it’s used outdoors, it seems we need to check it at least once a year.
In particular, install it when arriving at the job site, and remove it when you're done.

It seems best to replace it right away, especially if the contact surface of the metal fitting is warped.
If the generator's circuit breaker trips for some reason, start by checking the cab tire.
