I saw this the other day and it made me laugh, so I thought I'd post it lol

 

To be honest, safety patrols don't have a very good reputation, do they?

To put it another way, don't people tend to see you as a distraction at work?

Especially from subcontractors and site supervisors, lol

 

I think we’ve managed to ensure a minimum level of safety measures and curb unsafe behavior.

But in reality, the safety patrol members don't seem to know what they're talking about because their level of knowledge is so low...

That happens quite often.

 

Are there times when you feel like you can't leave unless you point something out?

Apparently, there was a gap of about 5 mm below the crimped joint at the connection point on site.

 

Someone pointed out that this could cause an electric shock.

From the field's perspective, the 60SQ crimping is being done by the electrical contractors, and

How can someone without a license point out what a licensed professional is doing??

On top of that, I heard we were told to "replace it lol," but when I asked the electrician, they said to just use electrical tape.

 

There are various other issues as well, but I get the feeling that the safety patrols have become little more than a formality.

During the safety patrol, they were talking about keeping things tidy, and I thought, "This isn't quite right, is it?" but I wondered what they meant. (It's something we do every day...)

Nitpicking over every little detail over and over and over and over lol (I get where you're coming from, but that's just an internal company rule—it's not actually in the law.)

 

I have the impression that many people who work exclusively in safety at major general contractors are surprisingly approachable and understanding, but,

I get the impression that a lot of people say local general contractors aren't exactly the best when it comes to safety, lol.

This is just my personal opinion, lol

 

There are people who, even when someone says something weird to them, just reply with something like, “Oh... I see...” aren’t there?

That's because I'm afraid that if I make that person angry, things will get even weirder.

Construction sites fear that they will be unable to get work done and that construction will become more difficult.

That's why we end up having no choice but to play it safe and follow these strange safety rules.

And then they just wrap things up by putting together photos and reports that make it look like they’ve fixed the problem, don’t they?

I think we’ve reached a point where we can say this kind of thing is just weird, and I wonder if it’s really the right thing to do.

I do think we live in an age where it’s easy to look things up.

 

Also, I’d like them to point out more safety issues specific to that worksite.

I sincerely hope this doesn't turn into a ridiculous safety patrol.

Every now and then, there are people who make me think, “Oh, I see!”

Personally, I think it would be good to have a few ideas like that up your sleeve.

 

For example, they said it’s okay to use rebar as a grounding rod for now, lol (A Chubu Electric Power employee actually said this!)
