Full-Body Harness

Now that the full-body harness requirement has gone into effect, is there a one-year wait for delivery? LOL

Even if it isn't fully implemented yet, I wonder what will happen?

 

And it seems that a full-body harness for slope work still hasn't been developed.

I understand that you hook it in front of your chest to lock it in place, but that must be a real pain to work with.

Are there any full-body harness suppliers who understand this?

On slopes in Japan, 18 mm main ropes are used as the primary ropes.

And the lifeline is either a main rope of the same size or a safety block, right?

There are even some slope engineers who are so stubborn about it that they insist, “It has to be a safety block!” lol

Actually, aren't there quite a few cases of people leaving the safety block?

Whenever I have the opportunity to talk with various slope construction contractors, I often hear them say they don’t like safety blocks.

It's just so heavy!!That really sums it up, doesn't it?

The manpower needed to carry that heavy thing up the mountain...

Still, if you prefer the safety block, I think that's fine.

The main rope is heavy enough as it is, isn't it?

Setup for Slope Ropes

We use 12 mm at our place.

In terms of strength, it is not much different from the 18 mm Cremona rope.

Cremona Rope 18 mm, Breaking Load: 3.3 t

12 mm Nylon Rope, Breaking Load: 3.16 t

The load doesn't change that much.

However, since the load mentioned above is the breaking load, it is the load at which the material breaks.

 

Compared to a Cremona rope, this climbing rope weighs half as much.

And the price is double.

 

However, it's quite easy to handle.

Take two ropes with you to the mountain, climb up quickly, and you'll be able to set up the ropes.

But it costs twice as much lol

It can be hard to pull on the main rope, right? (It’s heavy, after all.)

If the rope is waterproof, you can actually give it a light tug.

But the price is twice as much!

 

I was talking to someone from a trading company, and I was wondering—could it be that both main and secondary lines will eventually be made of Zail?

That's what we were talking about.

And then there are various associations and other organizationsSpecial interestsI don't know what those people would say, though lol

 

And there are plenty of other fixed equipment options that can replace the Lollip.

They're a little pricey, but there are lots of handy products!

Also, there are an incredible number of full-body harnesses designed for rope climbing, and there are a lot of foreign manufacturers in particular.

I wonder what the future holds for full-body harnesses?
