It's about time for the safety meeting. (It's still a little ways off, though.)
You guys don't think you'll get into an accident, do you? lol
Of course, I don't think so either.
Please take a look at these statistics.
If you search for “confident in avoiding accidents” in a survey on driving, you’ll find plenty of results.
As people get older, they report feeling more confident about driving.
The same goes for construction sites, right?
There are a lot of craftsmen who think that the older they get, the less likely they are to have accidents, right!?
Of course, that goes for me as well.
Even though I know from experience that this task is dangerous, I still end up doing it.
I'm convinced everything will be fine.
That's what they call the "normalcy bias," isn't it?
Once you’re over 40, always work with the mindset that even when taking safety precautions, there’s still a possibility of an accident.
Actually, I think it fails more often than not. And that’s a workers’ comp case, right? lol (To be nitpicky.)
Always keep safety in mind, and be on the lookout for risky or unsafe behavior among younger workers—it’s just right for an older guy to be a little bit of a safety nag!
