Smoking Etiquette at Construction Sites | No Smoking While Holding a Cigarette and New Measures

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

I was building heavy-duty shelving out of lumber in the warehouse.

Also, when we air-spray the rust-preventive coating, the warehouse gets filled with an incredibly strong smell of paint thinner.

It gives me a headache lol

Apparently, it's fine even without diagonal bracing because the structural members are fully welded together lol.

All told, this shelf is expected to hold over 500 kg.

But that's beside the point.

I was once called out for my smoking etiquette on the job.

This is one of our employees, and he's smoking while working.

Criticism has also come from outside that particular site.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to everyone on site.

I'm truly sorry.

On recent job sites,

Working while holding a cigarette in your mouth is generally prohibited.

No Smoking

It’s not exactly something that gives you a good impression when you actually see it.

Going forward,Of course, I don't smoke while working.

So that's what we talked about.

If I find any next time, I'm confiscating your cigarettes lol

Back in the day, there used to be quite a few forest fires caused by cigarette butts, didn't there?

As a general trend these days,

Young people have incredibly good manners.
On the contrary, older craftsmen tend to have worse manners.

Spitting phlegm right there on the ground, or

It seems that middle-aged people are the ones most often seen littering.

I really like young people these days. They’re definitely more likable than middle-aged folks!

It seems the recently popular IQOS isn't allowed on site either.

I guess even though it's electronic, it's still tobacco, so it doesn't matter.

Opinions are divided, but personally, I think IQOS is still the better option.

I guess it's just the smell, though. When someone smokes next to me, what I hate is that the smell gets on my clothes, lol.

Well, that's it for now.
