Large Bolt Scale<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The other day, I was talking to a salesman.<\/p>\n

That said, he\u2019s a senior colleague in his late 70s, lol.<\/p>\n

While construction workers level up relatively quickly, supervisors take a significantly longer time to level up.<\/p>\n

If you work as a craftsman for about three years, you\u2019ll be able to handle most job sites to a certain extent.<\/p>\n

It depends on the teacher, though lol<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the other hand, the role of a construction supervisor involves a vast amount of information to learn and requires a great deal of experience.<\/p>\n

Even with just one type of work, it can be quite challenging for a young foreman if circumstances change.<\/p>\n

If it's a second-tier subcontractor, it should be fine to a certain extent, but,<\/p>\n

Once you become a first-tier subcontractor, the bar is raised significantly.<\/p>\n

And the bar is set even higher for supervisors on general contractor projects.<\/p>\n

Covering all of thisIt generally takes at least about five years to reach what is considered an intermediate level.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>or so they say.<\/p>\n

After about 10 years, you're generally considered a veteran.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>...will gradually become.<\/p>\n

A construction supervisor with no experience as a general contractor cannot be considered a veteran.<\/p>\n

At this stage, it\u2019s essential to understand how government agencies think and how to communicate with them.<\/p>\n

While not all construction projects are prime-contractor projects, there\u2019s a world of difference between having done one and not having done one.<\/p>\n

\"Site<\/p>\n

And as a valuable learning experience, you should definitely work on a site run by a major general contractor.<\/p>\n

For example, large-scale construction projects such as dams, tunnels, land development, and highways.<\/p>\n

It doesn't matter if it's a first-tier or second-tier subcontractor\u2014either way, it's a great learning experience.<\/p>\n

It's pretty tough\u2014I'm really feeling the pressure, lol.<\/p>\n

You're fighting stress, and your sleep time is being cut short.<\/p>\n

I receive daily safety management training from a general contractor employee. (For first-timers)<\/p>\n

After a month, you'll get used to safety management.<\/p>\n

The quality of my own safety management has definitely improved.<\/p>\n

But I'm swamped with work lol<\/p>\n

Anyway, I get hounded about absolutely everything, lol.<\/p>\n

\"Dam<\/p>\n

This experience will be very useful on my next job.<\/p>\n

A long time ago, after spending three years working at a dam, my job with the prefectural government felt like a breeze.<\/p>\n

Experience at a major general contractor is important.<\/p>\n

What do you think is the biggest challenge for a new manager?<\/p>\n

Well, based on my experience, it was something I couldn't decide.<\/p>\n

Even though I'm in a position where I have to make a decision, I just can't bring myself to do it.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's it. I just don't have the confidence (or experience).<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when I can finally call my boss, explain the situation, get confirmation, and make a decision with peace of mind.<\/p>\n

The reason experience points are needed is that,<\/p>\n

Training to develop the ability to instantly assess whether a task is feasible in any given situation and issue instructions accordingly<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's it.<\/p>\n

Since site supervisors also have to handle the finances, a split-second decision can be a matter of life and death.<\/p>\n

Also, since we can't afford to be careless, we need to make an accurate judgment.<\/p>\n

By gradually gaining more experience like this, you\u2019ll become a manager capable of making sound judgments.<\/p>\n

Do you sort of get why it\u2019s hard to develop construction management skills?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to go from construction manager to craftsman, but it\u2019s quite difficult to go from craftsman to supervisor, and it requires a great deal of effort.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it\u2019s only natural that site supervisors earn high salaries! It goes without saying that they earn more than skilled workers.<\/p>\n

Since the detention period is quite long, I guess it can't be helped.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, basically, the call was just, \u201cThe director isn\u2019t here right now, so figure it out!\u201d lol<\/p>\n

My senior's introduction was really long, lol<\/p>\n

They called me because, even though they\u2019d been commissioned by the general contractor, they didn\u2019t have a supervisor, workers, or equipment.<\/p>\n

It's true\u2014we have just about everything here. (Although there are fewer people now.)<\/p>\n

But it's a little tough right now.<\/p>\n

We have a scheduled construction project.<\/p>\n

October is packed.<\/p>\n

In November, there was one temporary anchor installation and one bamboo-splitting job.<\/p>\n

In December, there was one permanent anchor installation, and we continued splitting bamboo.<\/p>\n

It looks like there might be some openings in November, but if I book everything too tightly, I might end up causing trouble for others.<\/p>\n

I haven't got a single gig lined up for next year yet\u2014I wonder how it'll turn out lol (Please book me, lol)<\/p>\n

I\u2019d really like to fulfill my senior colleague\u2019s request.<\/p>\n

Since I\u2019ve received help from so many people myself, I\u2019d like to lend a hand if there\u2019s a construction project in need of assistance.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's it.<\/p>\n
